This article will walk you through the process of linking your GoDaddy domain to GoSite. See instructions below to update your GoDaddy DNS settings and push your GoSite website live to your domain.

Pointing your GoDaddy domain to your GoSite website

  1. Log into GoDaddy.

  2. Under “My products” you'll see your domain.

  3. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the box around your domain name.

  4. Click "Manage DNS"

  5. Scroll down to the "Nameservers" section. If it says "Using default nameservers", move on to the next step. If it does not, click “Change” and select "I'll use GoDaddy nameservers."

  6. Navigate back up to the "Records" section at the top of the page. The two records that you will change under "Type" is “A Record” and the “CNAME.”

  7. Click on the pencil icon to the right of “A Record”.

  8. Change the "Name" to "@" if it is not already.

  9. Change the "Value" to your GoSite IP Address. See instructions below

    Finding your GoSite IP Address:

    • Log in to your GoSite Dashboard.

    • Click “Sites” on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

    • Scroll down to find a photo preview of your site

    • Hover your mouse over the photo and select "Settings".

    • Your GoSite IP Address is the bold number right next to the words "Please point your DNS to".

  10. Press "Save".

  11. Next, find the "CNAME" with the "Name" set to "www." and press the pencil icon to edit.

  12. The "Value” will be the domain name without "www." (for example: gosite.com would be the value, not www.gosite.com)

  13. Press “Save”.

Note: It takes 24-48 hours to update and make the changes. Please hold off on the final steps until these changes have completed.

  14. Navigate back to your GoSite Dashboard and open up your Site Settings once again (refer back to step 9 to learn how).

  15. Paste your domain name under "Custom Domain Name" (do not include the "www.").

  16. Click "Update."

  17. Your website will be published on your domain within 15-20 minutes.
