Push your GoSite website live to your domain with Google Domains

Having a website is crucial when building an online reputation. When you are ready for your GoSite website to go live to your domain hosted with Google Domain, follow the steps below to update your DNS settings and push your site live!


Updating DNS Settings for Google Domains:

  1. Log in to Google Domains. If you are already logged in, go to "My Domains" in the top right-hand corner.

  2. Find the domain you would like to use and select the "Manage" button on the right-hand side.

  3. Click on "DNS" on the left-hand side of the page.

  4. Select "Default Name Servers (Active)" tab at the top.

    Note: Never use Custom name servers

  5. Find the "Synthetic records" section. Delete all records in there. If there are no records in this section, move on to the next step.

  6. Find the "Custom records" section under "Resource records". Fill out the following fields and press "Save":

    1. Name: put "@"

    2. Type: A

    3. TTL: Leave as default which is 1 hr (3600 seconds)

    4. IPv4: To find this value, follow instructions underneath the image below.

      How to find your GoSite IP Address:

      • Log in to your GoSite Dashboard.

      • Click “Sites” on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

      • Scroll down to find a photo preview of your site (it will have the buttons "PREVIEW" and "DELETE" below it). Hove your mouse over the photo and select "Settings".

      • Your GoSite IP Address is the bold number right next to the words "Please point your DNS to".

  7. For C name - select CNAME in the dropdown and put "www" and for the domain name - paste your domain name
